A Peak Inside My Southie Apartment
I finally did it! I moved out of my house and into Boston and I LOVE it. My commute to work is better, I have more freedom and the best part is that I live right across the street from the beach so I can pop over there whenever its a gorgeous day! I moved in June 1st, but honestly it feels like it has been so much longer than that. I finally am organized and have all my furniture in place so I thought it would be fun to give you a peak inside my room!
My night stand is one of my favorite pieces in my room. I know, I know, it sounds weird but I used it all the time and it holds all my favorite things; my journal, my anthropology candle, laptop, just to name a few!
My room in my apartment is much smaller than the one at my house so I had a hard time trying to fit all of the pieces that mean a lot to me inside it. I decided to go to Target, buy some crates and put them together to make a shelf. It's the best idea I ever had. It looks cute and it holds all of my decor items perfectly. It also was much cheaper than buying a shelf.
I know you already saw a sneak peak of my bed at the beginning of the blog post, but I wanted to take a picture of it during the day as well. Although it is cozy at night, the day time makes the turquoise comforter look very inviting. My bed is the thing I am most proud of in my room. I have wanted a headboard like this for so long and was beyond excited when I finally ordered it. I also looked a very long time for the perfect comforter. I wanted something that was bright, but went along with my beauty (cape cod) theme. Sitting in my bed at night with a cup of tea, lights on, watching Netflix is a dream. It's like I have my own getaway every night!
It's not exactly a walk-in, but the storage I have in my closet is incredible. When I first moved in, I was most excited to organize my closet. I do wish there was a bit more room to hang up clothes, but honestly I am not going to complain because I love it so much. When I was packing up my room at home, I came to the realization that I am a show-addict. I almost didn't have enough room to fit them all, yet I still find myself on DSW.com weekly looking for new sandles and boots.
If you couldn't already tell, I am obsessed with Martha's Vineyard. I needed a cute well decor item that would let me hang my "Life is better on the Vineyard" sign and of course my keys. I found this board at Home Goods for $20 and I was thrilled. I don't have much hanging on my wall, but this adds a nice touch to my room. It is functional and cute!
Of course I had to include a my view out my bedroom window. It's not super glamorous, but I love it. This is the back of my building, but if you were to walk out the front, you would be hit by the smell of salt water, the sounds of the waves and a view of the ocean. Not a bad place to be in for my first apartment. I'm excited to spend a whole year here and explore all Southie has to offer. I'd love feedback on my room! I spent a lot of time organizing and designing it and would love your thought and opinions on it!!
